Overview

Akademie Street is a superb location for those who want to explore the restaurants, galleries and boutiques of charming Franschhoek on foot. Located off the main street, this stylish boutique hotel brims with ‘campaign country chic’, rooms that hark back to its origins in the 1860s but with all the little luxuries you need like underfloor heating.

Accommodation is in a series of cottages and suites, some of which have access to gardens, courtyards, decks, plunge pools, wood-burning stoves and hot tubs. Akademie Street Boutique Hotel is lovely example of late Cape Dutch architecture and is layered with polished wood, glowing brass, crackling fires and tranquil spaces to pause and relax – all with a glass of one the valley’s exemplary wines in hand.
