When To Visit

  • Peak Season: May to October

Warm days, cold nights and endless sunshine make for great peak season safari conditions in Onguma.

  • Green Season: November to April

Namibia doesn’t get much rain that the little that falls transforms many landscapes into fields of bright flowers.

Overview

Rising from 34 000 hectares / 84 000 acres of Onguma Nature Reserve is a huge conical traditional mud tower that echoes the characteristic termite mounds found here. This the centrepiece of Kala, a small but perfectly formed camp where natural inspiration meets profound comfort. Each of the only four suites has a private hot tub, plunge pool and king-sized sleepout right on your deck, so you can cool down or warm up, whatever the weather.

Between game drives to seek out lion, leopard and cheetah, head to the Onkolo Hide with your binoculars and camera, hit the gym or stretch out on the yoga deck. Kala takes over-12s and can be reserved in full as an exclusive-use lodge.
