Overview
Combining ‘chimp’ and ‘mpundu’ – the local word for the same agile, sensitive and intelligent apes – gives you Chimpundu Lodge at Kibale National Park. Naturally, the focus is on chimpanzee trekking but be sure to take in the area’s 351 tree species, 200 types of butterflies and a dozen other primate species on your Uganda safari!
Chimpundu’s tasteful cottages allow you to access other hotspots like the Bigodi Swamp, the springs at Semuliki and several crater lakes. After a day of trekking, canoeing, birding or hiking, the bar, spa or swimming pool will be waiting for you to unwind in. Accommodation includes a very large family cottage comprising five en suite bedrooms that is perfect for groups travelling together.
