When To Visit

Peak Season: July to October
The first wildebeest generally start arriving in the Grumeti from around June or July and predator action intensifies
Green Season: November to December – annual short rains March to May – annual long rains
Permanent game, including non-migratory wildebeest and black rhino, make the most of the long green grass and plentiful water of the Grumeti River and its tributaries

Overview

The Grumeti Game Reserve is adjacent to Serengeti National Park and hosts not only highly endangered black rhino but also the mid-year portion of the annual Wildebeest Migration. From around June, the first wildebeest come through, providing a thrilling wildlife experience. After the excitement, Faru Faru offers a warm welcome. Think classic botanist’s camp with neutral modern touches, understated luxury at its best.

Work off any over-indulgence in the gym, set up your camera overlooking the waterhole or discover new vintages over wine tasting. Children are very well catered for: the Mini Rangers Course is jam-packed with fun activities and there is even a television for watching movies.
