When To Visit

Peak Season: June to October
A great time to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and heading out onto Tanzania’s famous Northern Circuit to see the tail-end of the Wildebeest Migration
Green Season: November to April
The ‘short’ and a ‘long’ rains bring an abundance of babies and birdlife, including the dropping of thousands of wildebeest calves in February

Overview

Hamerkops are known for creating huge nests with plenty of space, which was possibly the inspiration for Hamerkop House, a spacious private villa on a wildlife and golf compound outside Arusha. Its location affords guests a relaxing pre- and post-safari stopover with plenty to do including a round of golf, horse riding and spa treatments. You could even get over your jetlag with a book and birding binoculars at the pool. A special way to end each day is with a short walk to the 16th hole for sundowners with views of Mounts Kilimanjaro and Meru in the distance.

All four bedrooms have their own sitting rooms, bathrooms and decks, making Hamerkop House ideal for families, couples or groups travelling together.
