Peak Season: October to April
Summer means very hot days and balmy evenings for picnics and wine tastings under the mature oak trees.
Green Season: May to September
Winter brings rainy days but also cosy fireplaces and plenty of interesting indoor activities without the crowds.
Overview
With a glorious and fascinating history dating to 1692, Lanzerac is one of Stellenbosch’s premier wine estates and hotels. Surrounded by the craggy mountains of the Jonkershoek Valley and shady oak trees, it offers contemporary classic interiors with plenty to see and do. In addition to stellar wine tastings and chocolate pairings, there are several restaurants to choose from and the hotel has a regular complimentary shuttle service to Stellenbosch, a vibrant university town.
Rooms are all individually decorated with some suites having secluded terraces, lounges, private pools and hot tubs. You can rent a bike to cycle around the estate or head to the farm for horse-riding. The spa includes a steam room, sauna, gym and indoor swimming pool.
