Highlights

What We Love

  • Every room is a stand-alone villa with a private pool
  • Exceptional birding, whale watching, turtle tracking and lemur spotting
  • A rewilded wonderland with outstanding attention to detail

When To Visit

  • Dry Season: June to Ocotober

Cooler seasonal winds herald the arrival of nesting terns on Nosy Manamphao as well as migrating humpback whales. The windier conditions are perfect for kiteboarding and windsurfing.

  • Green Season: November – May

Light overnight showers create ideal conditions for diving, snorkelling and tracking turtles

Overview

Chopper in from Diego Suarez or Nosy Be to what is arguably Madagascar’s most luxurious beach lodge. Lying on Nosy Ankao, the largest of five islands in a north-eastern archipelago, Miavana has 14 villas, each with its own plunge pool, butler, kitchenette and deck overlooking the deep turquoise ocean. Up at the Piazza or main lodge area, you’ll find a spa, another pool, a wine cellar, a boutique and a ‘curiosities cabinet’ filled with amazing natural history finds.

There is so much to do and see at Miavana that you can be as active or relaxed as you like. Start with sunrise yoga on the helipad and then take your pick of anything from scuba diving and lemur tracking to a picnic for lunch.
