Highlights

What We Love

  • An elegant mobile camp that moves as the seasons ebb and flow
  • Being in the centre of the Wildebeest Migration’s birthing season
  • Ballooning over the Southern Serengeti just as the sun is rising

When To Visit

  • Peak Season: June to October

The resident game doesn’t stray from the remaining water sources, making them easier to find

  • Green Season: November to December – annual short rains March to May – annual long rains

The wildebeest arrive around December and stay until about March, giving birth in February so mothers have the most nutritious grass to feed on

Overview

As the seasons change and the wildebeest come and go, so the location of Ndutu Tented Camp moves to always be in the best possible position for prime game viewing. Setting up in different spots of the Ndutu area, which is close to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Southern Serengeti, its definitive highlight is when the Wildebeest Migration passes through from December to March. Predator action ramps up in February when the big cats take advantage of newborn calves.

The Lemala Cubs club will entertain and educate children while over-16s can float off in a hot-air balloon to appreciate the sheer scale of the Migration from the air. Back on terra firma, full-day game drives with bush lunches are a must.
