Autumn and winter mean no rain and while days can be warm, nights are often crisp and cold
Green Season: October to March
The first spring shower and then short-lived summer thunderstorms ensure that the reserve is lush and green
Overview
Rhino Plains is small lodge of only four suites that punches above its weight when it comes to privacy, pampering and personal downtime. Every suite has a private plunge pool while the honeymoon option comes with a hot tub and a stargazing deck that can be used for dinners a deux. That is, of course, in addition to the main lodge pool, waterhole and multiple indoor and outdoor sitting areas.
The interiors are a soothing combination of natural textures and colours with more contemporary pieces scattered about. Every morning and late afternoon you will head out in search of the reserve’s myriad animal, bird and plant species with a qualified guide, enjoying sundowners as you toast another wonderful day in Welgies!
