Overview
The Taj marries a touch of India with one of Cape Town’s finest old buildings. Its central location is perfect for independent travellers who want to walk to St George’s Cathedral, Greenmarket Square and the Company’s Gardens. Rooms offer sweeping city or mountain vistas, with the expansive Presidential Suite boasting an outdoor fire pit and an indoor bathtub, both overlooking Table Mountain.
The Taj’s interiors are refined and elegant: expect polished wood, gleaming chandeliers and fresh flowers to welcome you. There are several specialist restaurants (including one for Indian cuisine) and a whisky bar. After an exciting walking tour of this vibrant neighbourhood, which includes Parliament and several museums, head to the fully equipped gym or spa to unwind.
