Highlights
What We Love
- Elevated rooms with huge decks among the marula trees
- The main area is built around a centuries-old baobab
- Being in a private reserve next to the national park – best of both!
When To Visit
Peak Season: June to October
Elephants migrate from the Masai Steppe to the Tarangire River to ensure access to water over the high season
Green Season: November to December – annual short rains March to May – annual long rains
The trees are ablaze with blossoms and leaves, giving the rooms a true ‘treetops’ atmosphere
Overview
You might think you’re dreaming of elephants nibbling marula fruit outside but you’re probably at Tarangire Treetops in green season, when the trees enclose your room in deep emerald green. In the morning, the dawn chorus of birds are ready to wake you. At Tarangire Treetops, the elevated rooms allow for views hard to find elsewhere. Even the lounge and dining area is ingeniously constructed around an ancient baobab tree.
Because it is in a conservancy neighbouring Tarangire National Park, you can undertake night drives to see nocturnal animals and guided nature walks. The rooms are some of the biggest in East Africa, with expansive decks that are perfect for birdwatching, reading or watching the stars come out with a nightcap…
