DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1: Gauteng to Madikwe

Leaving the metropolis of Johannesburg, our journey to Madikwe Game Reserve takes around 4-5 hours. We will arrive in the afternoon and briefly get to settle in at the lodge before we depart on our first real Madikwe encounter – a game drive with a qualified ranger. This Big 5 reserve offers many surprises with its exciting wildlife count so we will spend a few hours enjoying the surroundings before returning to the lodge after dark where a sumptuous dinner awaits us.

Spending three nights and four days in the reserve allows travellers to get a feel as to why Madikwe is such a special place. On both the second and third days we will embark on early morning game drives to hopefully catch a glimpse of some of the more elusive nocturnal animals as well as observe the diurnal inhabitants as they start their day.

Breakfast will be a welcome sight as we arrive back at the lodge fresh from our game drive and filled with excitement. The rest of the day will be spent at your leisure in & around the lodge before we return to the action on our late-afternoon/evening game drives to see what is on offer as the animals begin to become active again after the midday heat.

A sumptuous dinner will be enjoyed after returning to the lodge.

Another early start sees us embarking on our final game drive through the reserve, hopefully with some memorable sightings to round off our stay. Upon returning to the lodge we will enjoy breakfast before departing the lodge and Madikwe.
