Nelis is an international award-winning photographer and safari guide who specialises in leading photographic, family and general wildlife safaris. His vast experience of Southern, Central and East Africa has endowed him with an intimate knowledge of wildlife and a deep understanding of the best conditions for capturing breathtaking moments.

Nelis’s passion for the bush and its inhabitants is tangible. When coupled with his incredible ability to transfer his knowledge to his clients, it promises a fulfilling safari experience to those who join him.

Having lived in Rwanda for three years and with over 80 gorilla treks under his belt, Nelis is truly an expert gorilla-trekking guide. He has an enviable knowledge of the mountain gorillas and knows not only the family groups but also many of the individuals themselves.

Nelis guides safaris in Rwanda, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia, the Masai Mara in Kenya and the Kalahari Desert in South Africa.
