OVERVIEW
It’s very fitting that ‘Onguma’ means ‘place you don’t want to leave’ in Herero. From the rooms that have enough mod cons to be comfortable but still evoke old-school camping in the bush to days in the hide and nights in the boma, Onguma Tented Camp provides a plethora of safari activities.
Sharing the eastern border of Etosha National Park, Onguma is a nature reserve where sleep-outs (on the roof of a game-drive vehicle!) and guided nature walks are possible. The camp is unfenced and you may spot anything from black-faced impala to black rhino coming through. Game drives through Etosha are a highlight and the camp’s position allows you the best of both worlds, combining public and private wildlife areas.
