CONSERVATION & COMMUNITY
Green Operations
A solar farm with photovoltaic panels allows the lodge to be completely off the grid. All water is managed by a staged treatment system to ensure the Zambezi River is not contaminated. The sustainable design makes use of recyclable light-gauge steel and insulation to reduce heat intake in summer and increase it in winter. Thermodynamic panels use gas to heat water for Lolobezi
OVERVIEW
You can understand the love that went into creating this contemporary lodge when you know that ‘Lole’ is the name of the owner’s son and ‘bezi’ comes from the life-giving Zambezi River. Designed to be a fusion of timber, glass and stone, it has a kilometre of river frontage and five hectares of bush all to itself in Lower Zambezi National Park.
A very special and unique addition is the open-air cinema to watch movies or documentaries under Zambia’s blaze of stars. Children are entertained by the staff of the Ngwana Club and two large family units allow small groups to stay together. Hit the gym, spa or yoga pavilion if you need to work off high tea and sundowners!
