CONSERVATION & COMMUNITY

OVERVIEW
The Place of the Lion – or Tau Game Lodge – is ringed by Madikwe Game Reserve’s Dwarsberg Mountains and Tshwene-Tshwene Hills, places that harbour leopards, raptors and numerous other species just wanting to be spotted.
As a family-oriented lodge, there is something for every generation, from the Oasis Spa and game-viewing lodge over the waterhole to the after-breakfast bumble drives and diverse Cubz Club programmes like treasure hunts and crafting (a discreet fence provides added safety for little ones). Accommodation is in a series of very comfortable chalets laid out so that each has a view of the productive waterhole. Madikwe is one of the largest private reserves in South Africa with an enviable reputation for reliable Big 5 sightings.
