OVERVIEW
You may not even have to venture out on a drive to spot game: the Last Word Madikwe’s carefully tended lawn rolls gently down to a popular waterhole where you might see everything from impala to elephant come down to drink from your comfy garden chair. To extend your ‘armchair safari’, you can also head to the underground hide and wait for rhino or wild dogs to quench their thirst – a must-do for keen photographers and a hit with birders.
Shaped from an old farmhouse, Last Word Madikwe features tasteful interiors that successfully marry old and new, European and African. Game is regularly spotted wandering the lawn, which is also the place for a casual game of soccer or garden cricket.
