Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary & Orphanage
The camp is on the grounds that are home to rescued elephants from across Zimbabwe

Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust
Running various projects including the Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit and supporting the Katombora Scouts in Kazungula and Matetsi

Indigenous Tree-Planting Programme
To help reverse deforestation, the camp runs a nursery that is supplied with greywater

Biological Monitoring & Erosion Control
Alien vegetation is removed and the impact of elephants on the natural environment is assessed

Community Outreach
Various projects are supported including Cremora FC in Sizinda village and the Chinotimba vegetable garden for HIV/Aids survivors as well as the Rainforest Raincoat Project and home-hosted meals for guests as income generators

Sustainability
All decking is a bamboo and recycled plastic compound certified by the Forest Steward Council, solar panels provide heating and powers, fresh produce comes from the organic vegetable garden and scraps are composted at the on-site worm farm

OVERVIEW

The Elephant Camp is one of Victoria Falls Town’s most action-packed places to stay. Being located on the grounds of the Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary, there is the chance to understand rescued ellies and other wildlife before having sundowners on the edge of magnificent Batoka Gorge. The camp also acts as a pick-up hub for many optional extras like whitewater rafting, sunset cruises and game drives.

The property is divided into the larger Elephant Camp Main and smaller Elephant Camp West, which is ideal as an exclusive-use choice for families. All suites have private plunge pools and outdoor showers, as well as expansive decks with views over the sanctuary. The beautiful spray from Victoria Falls can often be seen on the horizon.
