OVERVIEW

Imagine spending your days swimming in the balmy Indian Ocean, snorkelling amid pristine coral reefs and seeking out humpback whales in season. At night, you head out with your guide and torch to find nocturnal lemurs and aye-ayes, the forest alive with species that are 90 percent endemic to the area.

This is the life at Masoala Forest Lodge, where you arrive by boat across Antongil Bay and the Tampolo Marine Reserve to settle into 85 hectares / 210 acres of pristine rainforest bordering Masoala National Park. Your room is an elevated treehouse on stilts where you can enjoy views over the bay. The lodge is designed for true animal lovers, birders and wildlife photographers who will revel in an unparalleled nature setting.
