OVERVIEW
Kilindi has come a long way from its origins as an island holiday home for a member of pop group ABBA. Today, its 50-acre tropical garden is dotted with secluded pavilion suites, all of which have private pools, architecture purposefully designed to let nature pass through and, of course, views of the ever-changing Indian Ocean that is several shades of clear turquoise.
The gardens are a haven for indigenous birds, monkeys and geckos and all Kilindi’s pavilions have shutters instead of glass windows for organic ‘air conditioning’ from the sea breeze. Its position on the north-west coast allows a glimpse of the stunning equatorial sunsets that the island is blessed with, making it a prime place for an African honeymoon!
