OVERVIEW
Its central location and easy access to all Victoria Falls’ major attractions belie Batonka’s tranquil grounds and green oasis in the heart of this lively and vibrant town. As a comfortable and good-value guest lodge, its architecture is reminiscent of so many historic buildings, not least of all for the wide, shady verandas that call out for an iced late-afternoon G&T to cap a day of sightseeing.
The lush gardens are also home to the curved swimming pool and plenty of mature trees – birders should look out for Heuglin’s robin, kingfishers, noisy Egyptian geese, turaco and even yellow-billed kites. Batonka has a regular shuttle for guests to and from town, and rooms can be configured to accommodate infants and children.
