OVERVIEW
What do you get when you have half the world’s population of mountain gorillas, about 200 butterfly species and at least 14 endemic bird species? The wonder and majesty of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This national park is one of Uganda’s highlights and Buhoma is one of very few lodges found here.
Close to Kihihi Airstrip, Buhoma is a laid-back, cheerful lodge where each room is almost a treehouse of its own. Built from locally sourced timber with the forest in mind, it is an unbeatable base for gorilla trekking in Bwindi. Thoughtful touches – like crackling fireplaces and your muddy boots being whisked away to be cleaned – make all the difference. A larger family unit or honeymoon suite is also available.
