OVERVIEW
‘Chiawa’ means ‘the one who shares’ in Soli but perhaps you wouldn’t want to share this camp with just anyone else. The first to be built in Lower Zambezi National Park, it has an enviable location on the river with raised decks that are perfect for whiling away siesta time, binoculars to hand.
The highlight is definitely the Safari Suite, a mini-camp all of its own with an exclusive access road, large grounds (ideal for children who need to burn off some energy) and an 18-metre private swimming pool. Like the other tents at Chiawa Camp, it has pastel tones that reflect the water, lilies and birds of Zambia and all furniture was handmade by local artisans from indigenous materials.
