CONSERVATION & COMMUNITY
Community support
Fumba Beach Lodge provides assistance to schools, helps villagers with business planning, creates employment and engages in community sport like football and an annual regatta
OVERVIEW
Located on Ukombe Beach near the Menai Bay Conservation Area, Fumba Beach Lodge is well placed to discover the reef on snorkelling, diving and kayaking sessions. Back on land, it teems with wildlife: monkeys, birds, bushbabies and geckos are all regular guests!
Laidback yet comfortable, Fumba has its own dive centre for water sports enthusiasts. The Baobab Spa is protected by one of these colossal and ancient trees, believed to be around 900 years old. The Baobab Suites are also cradled by their enormous trunks with the open-air bathrooms, direct beach access and private deck hung with a hammock making them popular with honeymooners. The chefs combine African and Mediterranean cuisines, seasoned, of course, with the fragrant spices off the island itself.
