OVERVIEW
The golden era of safari meant tables groaning with silver and crystal, comfy armchairs around a blazing fireplace and plenty of game to enjoy in unsullied environments. All of this and more is replayed at Gorah Elephant Camp, a stylish lodge in a private concession of Addo Elephant National Park. Tents are large with decks that overlook the savannah below: you never know if elephants, zebra or hartebeest will stroll past…
And while the polished antiques and Persian carpets are a nod to the past, Gorah also has a foot in contemporary safaris with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a swimming pool and underfloor heating. The popular waterhole in front of the sunny veranda provides an endless panoply of wildlife coming to drink.
