OVERVIEW

If you’ve always dreamt of a treehouse on the beach, out of reach of most of the rest of the world, this is it. Greystoke Mahale is an exclusive lodge on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in Mahale National Park. Above the azure water and powdery beach are the Mahale Mountains, home to free-roaming chimpanzee families that have been sensitively habituated to humans. Chimp tracking is rewarding as they are very social and active.

In addition, Greystoke offers fly-camping, kayaking and visits to Katumbi Village. Your room is a thatched double-story banda that is straight out of a Tarzan movie. This is a lodge like no other: you may even be lucky enough to see chimps foraging on the beach!
