OVERVIEW
The Western Cape in South Africa isn’t often considered a safari hotspot but Kwena Lodge on Gondwana Private Game Reserve changes all of that. Lying on the world-famous Garden Route, it is a satisfying wonderland of rolling hills and highly varied fynbos, which makes up one of the richest plant kingdoms in the world. This, in turn, supports the Big 5 and the southernmost herd of elephants on the planet.
Kwena Lodge has both suites and villas to choose from, depending on whether you’re a couple looking to experience a completely different safari or a family wanting an authentic wildlife experience. Rooms are inspired by traditional Khoisan architecture with soaring thatch domes that are cosy in winter and cool in summer.
