OVERVIEW
The Wildebeest Migration is the last big movement of terrestrial animals in the world. Millions of wildebeest (or gnu) move with some zebra and antelope in mega-herds through the Serengeti-Masai Mara ecosystem. While the river crossings are thrilling, the Southern Serengeti is also exciting with calves being born and – as is nature’s way – predators moving in.
Lake Masek Tented Camp in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area grants you access to the Lake Ndutu part of the Southern Serengeti so you’re never far from the action. Once the wildebeest have moved on, the other game remains, giving you a great camping experience in southern Tanzania. You can also meet members of the Hadzabe, Datoga and Wairak tribes to learn more about life at Masek.
