OVERVIEW
Along the Western Cape coastline lies a true secret gem that really is off the beaten track: Lekkerwater Beach Lodge in De Hoop Nature Reserve. Overlooking a large Marine Protected Area of the Indian Ocean, it is a paradise for whales and dolphins, with huge pods often spotted from the lodge. At low tide, the rockpools offer up plenty of fascinating surprises that your guide will reveal. On land, you may be lucky enough to spot bontebok, eland, Cape mountain zebra or caracul.
Positioned on a ridge to maximise the ocean views, the lodge weaves together aqua tones, natural fibres and cosy nooks that feel like home. Beach picnics, seasonal whale watching and guided walks make up a ‘sea safari’.
