OVERVIEW
Built on a bend along the Ntiakitiak River, Mara Plains Camp has an enviable position in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy on the doorstep of the famed Masai Mara National Reserve. Olare Motorogi delivers intense game viewing but sans the crowds and vehicles experienced in the Mara.
The camp has been thoughtfully laid out with a single flat-topped acacia tree – so iconic to this part of Kenya – as a focal point on the horizon. Dense trees shield the suites and common areas, providing both shade and a rousing rendition of the dawn bird chorus. A highlight must be drifting over the colossal herds of wildebeest during the mid-year Migration season in a hot-air balloon, seeing it as only eagles usually do.
