OVERVIEW
It’s true: elephants really do walk up the steps and through the lobby of Mfuwe Lodge to feast on the marula trees that fruit from November on. Following an ancient migration path forged by their ancestors, South Luangwa ellies continue this practice today.
But that’s not all that makes Mfuwe Lodge special. It’s the closest accommodation to the main park gate, making it convenient for travel. There’s a fun outdoor gym and the Phil Berry Centre houses a library and a photo studio. The grounds host plains game and hippo, and the Director’s House – which has a pizza oven and barbeque – is great for families with young children. Mfuwe Lodge is an excellent overnight stop before you venture deeper into South Luangwa.
