CONSERVATION & COMMUNITY
Green operations
At least 70% of the lodge’s power is solar generated while lightbulbs are energy saving and all geysers are on timers. Glass and metal are recycled and organic waste is composted for the kitchen garden. A system of French drains allows cleaned water to be returned to the bush and, as far as possible, all suppliers are local, especially for services and produce
OVERVIEW
When it comes to national parks, timing is everything. Animals are most active and easily seen in the early morning and late afternoon, meaning it’s best to arrive as early and leave as late as possible. Mushara Lodge’s position near the Von Lindequist Gate on the eastern border of Etosha National Park allows for safari lovers to be among the first vehicles in, perhaps even in time for the glorious sunrise.
Named after the traditional name for the purple-podded terminalia tree, Mushara Lodge has spacious main areas, large chalets that sleep up to three guests (plus a family unit) and a sizable sun-splashed swimming pool. A babysitting service is very helpful if you are travelling to Etosha with younger children.
