OVERVIEW
This is the safari of the pioneers: no vehicles, Wi-Fi or electricity – just you, the bush and a welcoming campfire. There aren’t even tents as you may know them as all the rooms are built from scratch every season by skilled artisans using reeds and thatch. Mwaleshi Camp is a true eco-friendly bush camp that hosts superb small-group walking safaris in North Luangwa National Park.
The emphasis here really is on the wildlife and the walking experience, which is enhanced by the chance of seeing rhino as you pass through the rhino sanctuary. This is one of the few places in Zambia to spot the Big 5. Trails to the Mwaleshi Falls or a night of fly-camping are also on the cards.
