OVERVIEW
Ngala means ‘lion’, a fitting name for this Big 5 stronghold. Clocking in at 14 700 hectares / 36 000 acres, Ngala Private Reserve is a concession in the Kruger area and promises superb game viewing. Ngala Safari Lodge makes the most of the abundant wildlife with night drives and private vehicles available, as well as the use of personal Swarovski binoculars available in every suite.
Accommodation is in a series of luxe cottages that include a butler service. The piece de resistance is, of course, the Ngala Treehouse, which takes sleepouts to literally the next level. Comprising four storeys, it includes a weatherproof bathroom, dining area and second bedroom – as well as the open-air rooftop bedroom – meaning children can join their parents.
