OVERVIEW
It’s rare to find a place in the world without any Internet connection but Old Mondoro is that rare – and thus very special – place in Lower Zambezi National Park. Named after a white lion that once lived here (‘mondoro’ means lion in Goba), this is a simple camp built in the Faidherbia Forest on the Zambezi River.
The chalets are comfortable and meals are taken outdoors with views of the river. The wildlife is free to wander through as they please – elephants have been known to sneak a sip from the outdoor bathtubs! Fun activities include paddling through the channels looking for southern carmine bee-eaters, boating on the Zambezi with hippos and elephants, and nature walks with highly experienced guides.
