Green operations
Energy efficiency is achieved by using a hybrid system that draws on solar power and hydroelectric power generated by the Zambezi River. A heat-exchange system from the hot-water geysers powers the air conditioning. To limit water use, boreholes are maintained and there is an on-site purification system. All glass, plastic and aluminium are sent to the Victoria Falls Recycling Project and organic waste is composted for use in the kitchen garden

OVERVIEW

Cool, tranquil and effortlessly stylish, The Palm River Hotel is shaded by indigenous trees that have been growing on the riverbank of the Zambezi for decades. Birds and smaller wildlife still roam freely among the scattering of double-storey buildings, each comprised of the timber, exposed brick and corrugated iron so typical of much historical architecture at the Victoria Falls. The hotel makes sure it is firmly in the 21st century, with Wi-Fi, air conditioning and UBS charging points in all rooms.
