DAILY ITINERARY

Day 1: Gauteng to Pilanesberg

Our destination lies a 2-3 hour drive out of the major city of Johannesburg. The Pilanesberg National Park is a firm-favourite safari destination in South Africa and we will arrive around midday to enjoy a delicious lunch before having time to unwind and adjust to our new home for the next two nights.

Our first game drive leaves in the late afternoon as the heat of the day subsides, a time when animals become more active. With the hopes of catching a few exciting sightings, we will return to the lodge where our dinner awaits.

(LUNCH & DINNER INCLUDED)

On both days we are up before dawn to head out into the reserve on a safari vehicle with our ranger. Hopefully catching some sightings of some the park’s nocturnal animals before they settle in for the day, we will explore the surroundings and take full advantage of this time of day when the animals are more-frequently active.

Breakfast awaits us upon our return where the next several hours to follow on each day will be spent in & around the lodge – relaxing, reading and discovering any other facilities offered by the lodge.

As the midday heat subsides in the late afternoon, it’s time to head out for our game drive. During this transition between day and night animals become more active and we’re likely to be enthralled by some of the larger denizens of this Big 5 park. A delectable dinner will be ready for us when we return fresh with sightings and stories to tell.

Today we rise early again for our final game drive. After savouring a quick tea or coffee we will head out into the park with our ranger to hopefully catch some great sightings.

The diversity of the flora and fauna that the Pilanesberg has on show will make for some unforgettable memories. Once we return to the lodge, our final breakfast is had before we check out and depart the reserve.
