OVERVIEW
Nyerere National Park (previously known as Selous Game Reserve) is the biggest in Africa. You’ll appreciate its enormity as you fly into Mbuyu Airstrip and make your way to Roho Ya Selous, a beautiful lodge that combines traditional building materials with modern conveniences like Wi-Fi and special bed cooling systems for hot summer months.
Because this section of Nyerere comprises a series of lakes, the game is highly reliable – keep your eyes peeled for more unusual species like crocodiles, wild dogs (thought to be the most populous in the world) and even colobus monkeys if you’re lucky! Families can take advantage of the family tent and a private vehicle to have a never-to-be-forgotten safari in this remarkable part of Tanzania.
