OVERVIEW
Come August and the Nsefu sector of South Luangwa National Park launches one of its most exciting attractions: the opening of the seasonal hide at Tena Tena Camp. This is the place to settle in with your binos, camera and patience that will likely soon be rewarded by the antics of hippo pods: males may fight, females will defend their calves from crocodiles and they’ll all ‘giggle’ underwater.
Tena Tena is an intimate but stylish camp that harks back to a more relaxed time without Wi-Fi or mobile connectivity, leaving you totally free to leave the outside world behind. It was one of the first camps in the Nsefu sector and is still shaded by a grove of mature mahogany trees.
