OVERVIEW
Vumbura Plains has access to 90 000 hectares / 222 000 acres of pristine channels, savannah and woodlands adjacent to the world-famous Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana. This is a big cat stronghold with regular sightings of agile wild dogs, too. The lodge has been built to take in the wide open views so characteristic of this slice of safari heaven, with stunning vistas from your deck, pool and daybed.
Special attention is paid to the delicious meals created at Vumbura Plains: local phapata bread is baked on the fire and tswii – the powdered root of the Okavango water lily – is used as an ingredient in some dishes. Activities include mokoro rides, seasonal fishing and exhilarating helicopter safaris over the shimmering floodplains.
