CONSERVATION & COMMUNITY
Tukongote Community Project
Pre-schools, a primary school, an adult learning centre, a library and a skills centre have been built for villagers. It also sponsors pupils to attend Kazangula High School and runs a community farming co-operative. All profits from sales of community-made items in the lodge’s shop go back to the crafters themselves
OVERVIEW
Green woodlands and a riverine forest teeming with birds, a sparkling swimming pool and a clutch of individually designed and decorated cottages make up the welcoming ‘home from home’ space at Waterberry Zambezi Lodge. Strung along the Zambezi River, it offers a tranquil sanctuary to return after a day of exciting activities at the Victoria Falls, time in the villages and markets around Livingstone or water sports on the river. A highlight is definitely a picnic on a private island in the midst of the Zambezi!
Set far apart from the hustle of the Falls, Waterberry is a family-friendly lodge that finds a balance between having modern conveniences like air conditioning and Wi-Fi and retaining a personal, down-to-earth atmosphere.
