OVERVIEW
The energy at The Elephant Camp is infectious as staff welcome every guest with trademark Zimbabwean smiles. This camp has been deceptively designed to seem small and intimate while making the most of the soaring views across the bush to the edge of Batoka Gorge, into which the Victoria Falls crash. When the Falls are at their highest – in around April and May – their ‘smoke’ can be detected from the camp’s many sunny decks and terraces.
Rooms may be tented but contain every luxury – including air conditioning, which along with the private plunge pools, is welcome in October at the peak of the dry season. The Elephant Camp West is a separate enclave with private staff that’s perfect for larger groups.
